UPDATE! There is a lot happening in Taiwan these days! Come hear an update from Yvonne Wolf who shared the history of Taiwan with us last May.
Republic of China or Formosa is a common name used for Taiwan in the last 50 years. Since then, some people have been anticipating a conflict coming to a head with China. When and how did this subtropical country become culturally Chinese? What has been the UN status of this island republic in the last century?
Understanding the historical and cultural background of this country will help Americans make up our minds about any future conflicts.
Presenter: Yvonne Wolf is an intercultural consultant and founder of Chinese Intercultural, LLC. She speaks on a variety of topics that help to clarify elements of Chinese culture in an accessible and relatable context.

Baha’i House of Worship and Gardens
Our group tour will begin at the Welcome Center (located just west of the Temple on Linden Avenue; wheelchair accessible) at 2 pm. After a brief introduction to the history and teachings of the Baha’i faith, our volunteer tour guide will lead us into the temple (elevator access) for an architectural tour of a building that took more than 50 years to complete. The building was financed entirely by Bahai from around the world and was dedicated in May of 1953. Attendees are invited to tour the gardens on their own. The gardens are made up of nine circular gardens, which are seasonally planted with native and global species. This tour is free.
Videos will not be viewed during the tour but are provided here for you to watch at your leisure.
Baha’i World View, 11 minutes
The Temple History, Design and Construction, 12 minutes
Four Seasons at the Baha’i House of Worship, 11 minutes
